Why our Kansa?

  • Certified 78:22 composition Every piece is 78% copper and 22% tin, the traditional bell-metal ratio used by master Kansaris. The composition is verified by an NABL-accredited lab. Much of the Kansa sold in the market is diluted with zinc, lead or aluminium to cut costs. Ours never is.
  • The only Kansa in India that is NABL & RoHS certified It is tested for purity in an NABL-accredited lab and certified to RoHS standards for hazardous substances. It is 100% lead-free and safe for daily use on your skin.
  • 5-year breakage guarantee The right alloy, cast and finished the right way, makes Kansa that lasts. We're confident enough in how it is made to guarantee it against breakage for 5 years.
  • Handcrafted by master Kansaris Each piece is cast, beaten and polished by hand by master Kansaris in Ahmedabad, using techniques passed down through generations.

How to maintain?

Everyday wash

  • Wipe the Kansa head with a damp cloth after each massage to remove oil, then clean with mild soap and water. If it has a wooden handle, keep the wood dry.
  • Wipe dry right away with a soft cotton cloth. Don't leave it to air-dry, because water spots dull the shine.

Bring back the shine

  • Kansa naturally darkens with use. This patina is a sign of real bronze, not a defect.
  • To restore the golden glow, rub with lemon and salt, or a paste of tamarind or Pitambari, then rinse and dry.

Avoid

  • Steel wool, metal scrubbers and harsh abrasive powders, which scratch the surface.
  • Dropping it on hard floors. Kansa is a hard alloy, so handle it with care.

Storage

  • Store dry. When stacking, place a soft cloth between pieces.

HOW TO USE?

Step 1 - Prep Your Skin:

Start by applying a few drops of a nutrient-rich facial oil of your choice to clean skin. This allows the wand to glide smoothly and enhances absorption.

Step 2 - Forehead & Third Eye

Begin at the center of the forehead. Move the wand in gentle circular motions—both clockwise and counter-clockwise. Then, draw small zigzags across the forehead and circle gently on the third eye area (between the eyebrows) to ease mental stress.

Step 3 - Eye & Temple Area

Draw a figure-eight pattern around the eyes a few times. Follow with light circular motions around the crow’s feet and temples to soothe tension and reduce puffiness.

Step 4 - Cheeks & Jawline

Massage from the sides of the nose outward under the cheekbones, moving toward the jawline with firm yet gentle pressure. Continue by lifting from the lips to the middle of the ears and from the chin to the bottom of the ears.

Step 5 - Neck & TMJ Area

Glide the wand up and down along the sides of the neck to encourage lymphatic drainage. Then massage the TMJ (temporomandibular joints) along the jawline to release facial tension.

Step 6 - Finishing Touch

Wash your face with water at normal temperature to remove any excess oil or released impurities. For best results, repeat this routine 2–3 times a week.

The science of real Kansa

Why 78:22?

Kansa is not just any bronze. It is defined by how much tin is in it. Every CarryHome piece is 78% copper and 22% tin, the classic bell-metal ratio.

True bell-metal Kansa

Metallurgists define Kansa as high-tin bronze, with more than 20% tin. At 22%, ours sits right in that range.

The traditional Kansari ratio

Master Kansaris have worked with about 21–22% tin for centuries. One documented recipe is 270 g of tin to every 1 kg of copper.

It takes mastery to make

Bell metal can only be worked within a narrow window of heat. It is then quenched and tempered to make it tough.

Kansa thali set
Is this real Kansa?

Yes. Every CarryHome piece is pure Kansa, 78% copper and 22% tin, with nothing else mixed in. The composition is tested in an NABL-accredited lab.

Why 78:22?

78:22 is the classic bell-metal ratio. Metallurgists define Kansa as high-tin bronze, with more than 20% tin. At 22% tin, ours sits right in that range, the same ratio master Kansaris have worked with for centuries.

Why does my skin turn grey after a massage?

This is normal and harmless. The bronze reacts with the natural oils on your skin and leaves a grey residue that washes off with water.

How do I use it?

Apply a little oil or ghee to clean skin, then glide the Kansa head in slow circles with gentle pressure. Avoid acne, rashes or broken skin, and stop if you feel any irritation.

How do I clean it?

Wipe the Kansa head with a damp cloth after each use, then clean with mild soap and water and dry it. If it has a wooden handle, keep the wood dry. Rub with lemon and salt to bring back the shine.

How can I check that it is real?

Tap it gently with a spoon: real bell-metal Kansa rings clear and long, while mixed metals sound dull. A magnet won't stick to it. And our lab report confirms the composition.

How long will it last?

With normal care, for many years. Hidden air bubbles are what make bronze crack, so we remove them from every piece and check each one by hand. That is why every CarryHome Kansa piece comes with a 5-year breakage guarantee.

What if it cracks or breaks?

If it cracks or breaks in normal household use within 5 years of delivery, write to us with your order number and a photo of the piece.

What if my order arrives damaged?
