BENEFITS

  • Cooking in a Kansa tope is traditionally believed to help balance the body's energies, leaving you feeling more refreshed and revitalized after every meal.
  • As your food simmers, tiny traces of copper and tin gently infuse into it—minerals known to support digestion and strengthen the immune system.
  • Unlike many metals, bronze doesn’t react with sour or acidic ingredients, so the natural taste and nutritional value of your food stay intact.
  • Its surface also resists microbial growth, keeping your cooking environment cleaner and more hygienic without the need for harsh chemicals.
  • With regular use, a natural non-stick patina forms on the bronze, letting you cook with less oil while avoiding synthetic coatings
  • Heat spreads evenly across the vessel, helping you avoid burnt spots and preserve the essential nutrients in your ingredients.

INGREDIENTS

  • Copper: The foundational metal (around 78%) that gives bronze its ductility, thermal conductivity, and warm reddish hue.
  • Tin: The alloying element (roughly 22%) that hardens copper, lowers the melting point, and enhances corrosion resistance.

SHIPPING & RETURNS

Each Kansyam piece is thoughtfully created by skilled rural artisans, using techniques passed down through generations.

Minor variations in shape, texture, or finish—including spots or sharp edges—are natural signs of true craftsmanship, not flaws. These can be easily cleaned with a quick wash and gentle scrub using a scotch brite.

Our bronze products may also develop a patina over time—a natural process that can be reversed with simple cleaning methods using lime, salt, vinegar, or tamarind.

We offer nationwide shipping services across India. Our standard delivery timeframe is 3-6 working days from the date of dispatch.

We accept returns for products only in cases where there is something wrong with the product such as missing product, product other than what was ordered and broken product. We have an open box policy regarding such incidents. Share us a video whilst opening the box within 24 hours of receiving such a package. Read our Return Policy here

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Daily Cleaning

  • Rinse your bronze utensils in warm water immediately after use to prevent food residue from sticking.
  • For stubborn stains or buildup, scrub gently with a paste of fresh lemon juice and salt.

Deep-Cleaning Methods

  • Lemon & Salt: Rub cut lemon dipped in salt over the surface, then rinse.
  • Vinegar Soak: Soak in a warm water + white vinegar solution for 10–15 minutes, then rinse.
  • Tamarind Bath: Boil a few tamarind pods in water, immerse your pieces for 5 minutes, then rinse.
  • Pitambari Bronze Cleaner: Apply the bronze cleaning powder as directed, rinse thoroughly.

Post‐Wash Care

  • Always wipe dry with a soft cotton or microfiber cloth—never air dry—to maintain the lustrous finish.
  • Avoid harsh abrasives or metal scrubbers that can scratch the surface.

Dishwasher Use

  • Our bronze pieces are dishwasher-friendly, but we recommend placing them on the top rack and using a gentle cycle to prolong their golden sheen.

Safety & Storage

  • Store in a dry cabinet or drawer; if stacking, place a soft buffer (like cloth or paper) between items to prevent scratches."

FAQs

A bronze kadai offers superior heat conductivity for even cooking compared to other metals—ideal for deep-frying and maintaining consistent temperatures. Also, it has exceptional durability that can last generations and non-reactive health benefits that preserve food’s natural flavors.

Absolutely—cooking in bronze vessels is perfectly safe. Bronze’s minimal reaction with acidic foods has earned and sustained its trusted reputation over time.

Bronze is generally the better choice for cooking: it retains about 97 % of a dish’s nutritional value and is barely reactive with acidic ingredients, so it can be used unlined for everything from curries to storage of dairy without risk of souring. Brass, by contrast, retains around 90 % of nutrients but must be tin-lined to prevent corrosion and metal leaching when cooking acidic foods. Both metals heat well and are durable, but bronze’s low reactivity and higher nutrient retention make it the safer, more versatile option.

Both are different and should be used for specific purposes. For daily cooking and high-heat tasks, stick with stainless steel—save your lovely bronze pieces for serving or gentle, low-heat cooking.

You can spot genuine kansa in just a few steps:

  1. A small magnet won’t stick to real kansa, but will to plated or mixed-metal pieces.
  2. Tap it gently—authentic kansa rings with a clear, bell-like tone, while imitations sound dull.
  3. Real kansa develops a natural brownish patina over time and feels noticeably heavier than hollow or lighter alloys.

Bronze Cookware does not require any explicit seasoning. But try to ensure that the first few cooking sessions do not involve any frying.

It's better to do tinning or kalai first to cook anything citric in nature

Yes for non-citric foods. For citric foods, transfer food to other utensils after cooking.

The tin coating usually lasts for 3 to 4 years, depending on how much you use it. It's safe to use every day during this time. After the coating fades, you can still cook non-sour foods in it or get it re-tinned at a nearby shop.

No, since it is a ferromagnetic material. Only works on gas and ceramic hot plates

We have been in the industry since 1951 and have expertise in the product with a long-standing relationship with the suppliers. Each piece is authentic and handcrafted. CarryHome is your one-stop shop for all kitchenware and cookware needs.
